7 rules of PCK
In fulfilling its mission, the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement is always guided by seven basic principles, which are constant and not influenced by current ideologies.
The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, born of the desire to bring assistance to the wounded on the battlefield without distinction, endeavours, both at the international and national levels, to prevent and alleviate human suffering in all circumstances. It aims to protect life and health and to ensure respect for the human personality. It promotes mutual understanding, friendship and cooperation and lasting peace among all nations.
Humanitarianism
The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement makes no distinction of nationality, race, religion, social standing or political opinion. It is solely concerned with bringing assistance to those who suffer, guided by their needs and giving priority to the most urgent cases.
Impartiality
In order to maintain universal confidence, the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement refrains from participating in armed hostilities and, at all times, in disputes of a political, racial, religious or ideological nature.
Neutrality
The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement is independent. National Societies, while assisting public authorities in their humanitarian activities and subject to the laws in force in their countries, must always enjoy an autonomy enabling them to act at all times in accordance with the principles of the Movement.
Independence
The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement provides assistance voluntarily and without any desire to achieve any advantage.
Voluntary
There shall be only one Red Cross or Red Crescent Society in each country. It shall be open to all and shall cover the entire territory of the country with its humanitarian activities.
Unity
The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement operates throughout the world.

It was probably an impulse. I saw a conversation on TV with the father of a family that had lost everything in the flood. I am a husband and a father of two children, and work and family were my priorities. That's when I realized how important it is to act quickly in difficult times. I found a Polish Red Cross fundraiser for flood victims, donated PLN 100, then followed its progress and ongoing activities. And somehow by accident I got involved in helping. The first donation was not the last.
I have recently become interested in blood donation, because donating blood really saves lives. I understood that even the smallest gesture can have enormous power. I realized that the Polish Red Cross not only helps - it gives hope for a new life. We have no influence on what fate will bring, but we can decide how we react. When I look at my children, I know that I want to give them something more than just a good education or money. I want them to understand that helping others enriches us and makes us better people.
People changing the world
You can help others by being a volunteer, a blood donor or a rescuer. However, if you cannot get involved personally, it does not mean that you cannot help at all. The Polish Red Cross will do it for you. Sometimes a small payment is enough, thanks to which we can change the fate of people in need.
