Children and youth

The Polish Red Cross has been supporting children from families in difficult situations for years, offering material assistance and educational programs. It works to minimize social exclusion, giving the youngest a chance for a better future.

About the project

Every child deserves a happy and dignified childhood, but in Poland nearly 400,000 children live in extreme poverty, which means that their basic needs – such as food, shelter, hygiene or education – are not met. The Polish Red Cross (PCK) has been carrying out activities aimed at counteracting social exclusion and providing children from poor families with a better start in adulthood for years.

Through its programs, the PCK fights hunger, malnutrition and poverty among the youngest, and also organizes campaigns to support children and their families in difficult times.

Need

In Poland, many children live in difficult material conditions, which hinders their full participation in education and social life. The main needs of children include:

  • School equipment: Lack of basic school supplies, such as notebooks, backpacks, or pens.
  • Food: Children from poor families often do not have access to nutritious meals, which affects their health and concentration in school.
  • Recreation: Lack of opportunities to participate in vacations or activities that develop skills.
  • Emotional support: Family problems, social exclusion, and difficulties in relationships with peers increase the need for psychological and integrative assistance.

How do we help?

Image

Backpack for a Student
Every year we organize an initiative through which children from impoverished families receive essential school supplies. We collect notebooks, backpacks, pencil cases, and other materials so that the youngest can start the school year with dignity and better preparation.

Image

Food Aid
We regularly deliver food packages to families in need. We collaborate with partners and donors to also support child nutrition in schools, providing them with regular and nutritious meals.

Image

Colonies and Camps
We provide children from families in difficult situations with the opportunity to participate in colonies and camps. During the summer, we organize educational, sports, and integrative activities for them, which support their development and build their self-esteem.

Image

Educational activities and workshops
We conduct workshops in the field of first aid, healthy lifestyles, ecology, and prevention of addictions. Our goal is to develop children's knowledge and skills while building their social awareness.

Image

Emotional Support and Integration
We provide psychological assistance and organize integration activities that help children cope with emotional difficulties, build relationships with peers, and find a sense of security.

Special Actions
We carry out campaigns such as „Gold Fever” and „Worthy Holidays”, which engage the community in fundraising and donations for children. Thanks to this, we collectively ensure that the youngest can enjoy the holidays and receive support at crucial moments in their lives.

Support children and youth

Every child deserves equal opportunities – a full backpack, a warm meal at school, and moments of joy during the holidays. Your donation is more than material support – it is an investment in their dreams, education, and a better life.
