Senior citizens

The Polish Red Cross supports elderly people through Senior Clubs, home care, psychological help, and intergenerational integration, creating a space for activity and better living.

General Information

Need

The aging society in Poland is facing many challenges. Many seniors live alone, struggle with health problems, low income, or lack of support in daily functioning. They often lack space to build relationships, develop passions, and become active.

How do we help?

Last year, Senior Clubs conducted a total of over 300 various workshops, including:

Senior Clubs
We create places where seniors can actively spend time, develop their interests, and build relationships with others. Senior Clubs provide a space for learning new skills, such as handling technology, crafting, or foreign languages. We also organize educational workshops, theme meetings, and activities that support physical and mental health. It is not only a form of activation but also a way to combat loneliness.

Support in Home Care
We assist elderly individuals who, due to health issues or life circumstances, are unable to manage daily responsibilities on their own. Our caregivers provide support in cleaning, cooking, shopping, and medical visits. This allows seniors to feel safer and to remain in their homes longer, which is extremely important for them emotionally.

Nutrition and Material Programs
Seniors in difficult financial situations often struggle to meet basic needs such as food and clothing. We provide food packages, assist with the supply of hygiene products and clothing. Our material support is especially important during periods such as winter or holidays when these needs are even greater.

Psychological Support
We understand how great a challenge loneliness, grief, and age-related difficulties can be for many seniors. We offer psychological assistance by organizing individual meetings with psychologists and support groups where older individuals can share their emotions and experiences. We help them regain their self-esteem and learn how to cope with everyday challenges.

Intergenerational Integration Projects
We believe that collaboration between generations brings great benefits to both seniors and young people. We organize workshops and joint initiatives that help build bonds and mutual understanding. Seniors have the opportunity to share their knowledge and experience, which gives them a sense of being needed and appreciated, while the younger generation gains valuable life lessons.

Activities for Physical Activation
Physical activity is the key to health and well-being at any age, which is why we organize physical activities tailored to the needs and abilities of older people. Gymnastics, Nordic walking, or dancing are not only ways to maintain fitness but also opportunities for fun and integration within a group. Thanks to our activities, seniors can enjoy better health and more energy to act.

Social campaigns
We are working on changing the perception of seniors in society. Our social campaigns draw attention to the needs of older people, their rights, and the tremendous potential that lies within them. We want to build awareness that seniors are an important part of the community and that it is worth supporting them in their pursuit of a dignified, active life.

Support seniors

Seniors need support to live with dignity and feel like part of society. Your involvement can provide them with a warm meal, help at home, or the opportunity to participate in activities at the Senior Club.
