About the service
The Polish Red Cross (PCK) has been providing care services throughout Poland for years, supporting the elderly, the sick, the disabled and those in difficult life situations. The aim of these activities is to provide the beneficiaries with decent living conditions, support in everyday activities and counteract their social isolation.
PCK care services include assistance in meeting everyday life needs, such as preparing meals, maintaining personal hygiene, cleaning or shopping. Additionally, PCK staff and volunteers offer emotional support, accompanying during medical visits and assistance in handling official matters. The scope of assistance provided is tailored to the individual needs of each beneficiary, which allows for comprehensive and effective support.





For whom?
Older adults, sick individuals, or those with disabilities often cannot perform basic life activities independently. They need assistance with maintaining hygiene, preparing meals, cleaning, or doing errands. Support is especially important for lonely individuals who, due to age, illness, or other reasons, do not have close ones who can help them.
Scope of services
Specialist services are tailored to the individual needs of those in care arising from the type of illness or disability and require specialized knowledge.
PCK provides a wide range of care services, divided into two main categories:
Caring services
feeding, administering medication, changing personal and bedding linen, washing, combing, and grooming.
Household services
regular cleaning, laundry, shopping, handling administrative matters, accompanying during walks, walking pets.
How to take advantage?
To benefit from the care services of the Polish Red Cross (PCK), one must contact the local social assistance center, which assesses the living and health situation of the person in need of support. Based on the conducted environmental interview, the social assistance center makes a decision about granting services, their scope, and any potential fees. In some cases, services may be funded by the municipality or other sources, allowing for their free provision to the beneficiaries.
