Senior Clubs

Senior Clubs are places where seniors regain joy in life, develop passions, and establish new relationships. Thanks to a rich offering of activities and the support of local communities, older individuals can actively participate in social life and feel needed.

About clubs

The PCK Senior Clubs are unique places that offer seniors the opportunity to actively spend time in a friendly and supportive atmosphere. They work towards social integration, counteracting loneliness and supporting the personal and social development of seniors. It is a space where participants can pursue their passions, make new friends and enjoy various forms of activity. Thanks to a variety of artistic, educational, sports and recreational activities, the PCK Senior Clubs become a place that responds to the emotional, social and educational needs of seniors.

Each club operates in the spirit of openness and intergenerational solidarity, enabling participants not only to establish contacts with peers, but also to cooperate with younger generations, e.g. through volunteer projects. For many seniors, the PCK Senior Clubs are the only place where they can feel part of a larger community and actively participate in the life of the local community. It is also a space where they can get support in difficult moments and share their experiences and stories with others.

Need

In Poland, where nearly a quarter of the population is elderly, the need to create places of support for seniors is becoming increasingly urgent.
The aging of society and the growing number of people over 60 (over 9.8 million individuals) are associated with challenges such as isolation, loneliness, and a lack of social activity. Statistics show that as many as 26% of seniors over 80 often feel lonely. These individuals particularly need support in their daily functioning and opportunities to participate in social life.

Elderly people often face health problems that limit their mobility and ability to engage in physical activity. A lack of regular contact with others can lead to a deterioration in their mental health, including depression and a sense of exclusion. For many seniors, the day passes in solitude, which further exacerbates their health issues and social isolation.

PCK Senior Clubs are being established to address these challenges. They provide a place where seniors can find support, a sense of belonging, and opportunities to participate in activities that enhance them physically, intellectually, and emotionally. Through activities organized in the clubs, they counteract loneliness, help build new relationships, and offer a chance for an active and fulfilling life.

The campaign „Not Yet” is our appeal to you – help us create spaces that give seniors a new lease on life.

The aim of the project

Preventing social isolation of seniors through integration and activation.

Enabling seniors to develop passions, skills and forge new relationships.

Support in maintaining physical and mental condition.

Creating a space where seniors feel accepted and needed.

It started when my wife learned about the existence of the Club from a friend and decided to take part in the activities. She passionately talked at home about the wonderful atmosphere and interesting people she met there. After a while, I also decided to give it a try – after all, it’s an opportunity to get out of the house and meet people, instead of being alone within four walls.

The first activity I participated in was led by a beekeeper who talked about honey. The meeting was so fascinating that we asked for another one, and indeed there was a follow-up. The Club also organizes social games, outings to the theater, cinema, museum exhibitions, and trips.

Regular meetings force me to leave the house, which is particularly important due to health issues – in my case, with my knees. I’m glad I can find support and understanding here, and in the process, I am rediscovering the joy of engaging with another person.

Simply put – every meeting brings me something valuable. Board games, shared conversations, discovering new places – every moment spent here matters. The PCK Senior Club gives me the opportunity to develop my interests, realize ideas, and be a part of a community that opens doors to the world.

To put it simply – every meeting brings me something valuable.

My recipe for a happy old age in the PCK Club is: community, physical activity, and also solving logic puzzles and quizzes.

If it weren't for the Senior Club, I don't know if I would have completely fallen into sadness.
