The Western Pomeranian District Branch of the Polish Red Cross in Szczecin informs that it has joinedthe European Funds for Food Assistance 2021 – 2027 Subprogram 2023 co-financed by the European Social Fund Plus.

The overall goal of the operation under Subprogram 2023 is to counter material deprivation by providing food assistance to those in greatest need and ensuring accompanying measures to support their social inclusion duringApril – November 2024


Groups of individuals in greatest need to whom food assistance will be directed:

  • people with disabilities,

  • homeless individuals,

  • citizens of third countries,

  • people of foreign origin and belonging to minorities (including marginalized communities such as the Roma);

  • other groups of recipients meeting the criteria set out in Article 7 of the Act of March 12, 2004, on social assistance, whose income does not exceed 265% of the income criterion qualifying for social assistance.


From February 12, 2024,
new income criteria qualifying for food assistance under the European Funds for Food Assistance Program 2021-2027 will apply.

The new criteria constitute 265% of the statutory criterion qualifying for benefits
in social assistance and amount to respectively:

  • 2,056.40 PLN for a single person managing a household

  • 1,590.00 PLN for a person in a family.

In the case of individuals already qualified for Subprogram 2023 before February 12, 2024, a new referral is not required.


Qualification for participation in the Program will take place in cooperation with the Social Assistance Centers in municipalities. The SCP issues referrals for food assistance (Appendix 5) to eligible individuals or provides organizations with lists of individuals qualified for the Program with the consent of those individuals (Appendix 7).


During the implementation of the distribution process, activities will be carried out as part of accompanying measures. These activities aim to counter social exclusion and contribute to the elimination of poverty by directing individuals to services providing social and health services, including psychological support, or providing such services, providing relevant information about public services, or offering advice on managing a household budget and more.
