Thanks to national and international cooperation, the Polish Red Cross provides food, logistical support, and rescue equipment, including meals delivered by air to Stronie Śląskie and food packages for people reinforcing flood barriers in Wrocław.

As part of the FEAD program, meals for the residents of Stronie Śląskie were delivered by helicopter this morning, who have been cut off from the world for several days due to destroyed infrastructure. This is another form of support for the region that is struggling with the dramatic effects of flooding

At the same time, the Polish Red Cross has ensured the delivery of food packages for those working to reinforce flood barriers in Wrocław in the Marszowice 1 and Marszowice 2 sections, where the fight against the approaching flood wave is ongoing. Meals will be delivered this afternoon. Polish Red Cross rescuers provide not only food but also logistical support for the rescue services.

Additionally, in Czechowice-Dziedzice, the Polish Red Cross opened a first aid point for working local services on Monday, which was established as part of the actions of the local crisis staff. The Polish Red Cross Medical Rescue Group provides medical assistance to those evacuated and injured, as well as supports residents affected by the flood.

– Thanks to the enormous mobilization of our teams and the support of international partners, we can respond quickly to the needs of those affected. Our help reaches everywhere the situation is hardest – from cut-off localities, such as Stronie Śląskie, to areas threatened by the Odra flood in the vicinity of Wrocław. Every step we take aims to save lives and restore security –

said Michał Mikołajczyk, a member of the Executive Board of the Polish Red Cross

The Polish Red Cross is continuously coordinating its activities with local authorities to provide essential humanitarian aid where it is most needed. As part of international cooperation, another transport from the German Red Cross is heading to the Wrocław branch of the Polish Red Cross. This transport contains essential aid materials, including blankets, field beds, and hygiene products. This is another stage of support under international solidarity that helps in managing the consequences of flooding in Lower Silesia.

At the same time, more humanitarian aid groupsare being brought in from the country. This afternoon, a group from Białystokwill arrive in Wrocław, and during the night, a team from Łódźis expected to arrive. These teams will join local actions, supporting the evacuation of residents and the reinforcement of flood barriers in the city and its surroundings.

The Polish Red Cross, supported by national and international partners, works for those affected, providing essential humanitarian aid and coordinating rescue operations in cooperation with local authorities and rescue services.
