XXXI Health Olympics of the PCK with Biedronka - regional stage

On April 19, 2024, the Polish Red Cross organized the regional stage of the XXXI edition of the National Health Olympiad PCK with Biedronka, which is designated for students in grades VI, VII, and VIII in the category of primary schools and post-primary schools.

The main partner of the Olympiad is Jeronimo Martins Polska S.A., and the honorary patrons are the Medical University in Łódź, the University of Opole, the Poznań Medical University, the Warsaw University of Life Sciences, the Jagiellonian University, and the National Institute of Public Health.

The West Pomeranian District Branch of the Polish Red Cross in Szczecin conducted three stages, namely school, district, and regional stages of the Olympiad, with 25 participants from the West Pomeranian Voivodeship.

The regional stage of the XXXI edition of the National Health Olympiad PCK with Biedronka was held on April 19 this year at 10:00 AM at the headquarters of the District Branch of the Polish Red Cross in Szczecin.

The honorary patronage of the regional stage of the Olympiad was held by prof. dr hab. n. med. Bogusław Machaliński, Rector of the Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin.

For the regional stage of the Olympiad, 5 students representing schools from the following locations participated: Koszalin, Połczyn, Szczecinek, Szczecin, and Złocieniec. The students solved a test consisting of 50 questions; descriptive works from health-promoting actions carried out by the participants of the Olympiad were also assessed.

The proper course of the Olympiad was supervised by the assessment committee, which included representatives from the following institutions: Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin represented by prof. dr hab. n. med. Dariusz Chlubek, Uniwersytet Szczeciński represented by dr Halina Budis, and the County Sanitary and Epidemiological Station in Szczecin represented by mgr Monika Sawicz, as well as ZOO PCK in Szczecin represented by mgr Marzena Malanowska, whom we warmly thank for the proper course of the event.

The winners in two categories received prizes: vouchers for the EMPIK store worth: 600.00/500.00/400.00 PLN, diplomas, and PCK gadgets. The committee members received small gifts and PCK gadgets, and the supervisors received PCK gadgets.

We express our heartfelt thanks to the Rector of the Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin for patronizing the PCK Health Olympiad with Biedronka and to all co-organizers and sponsors of our undertaking.

Student Hanna Przydacz from Primary School No. 3 in Koszalin and Maciej Majchrzak from I High School in Szczecinek will represent ZOO PCK in Szczecin at the national finals of the Olympiad.
