The Ukrainian Red Cross has been continuously working on issues of preparedness and response to armed conflict since 2014. Based on all the lessons learned, especially those after 2022, it organized workshops for the exchange of experiences, attended by representatives of the Polish Red Cross.
A delegation from the Polish Red Cross, led by General Director PCK Katarzyna Mikołajczyk, actively participated in workshops in Kyiv, Ukraine, concerning preparations for international armed conflict situations. Their goal was the practical exchange of knowledge and experiences of the Ukrainian Red Cross in collaboration with representatives of the Ukrainian authorities, including the Ministry of National Defense and Civil Defense.

Participants had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the solutions implemented by the Ukrainian side in response to the ongoing conflict, as well as to discuss the challenges related to the protection of civilians, logistics of humanitarian aid, providing first aid, including psychological aid, and cooperation with state institutions.
The presence of PCK at this event is not only an opportunity to deepen relationships with partners from Ukraine and other associations, but also to gather valuable experiences that can be used in preparatory and operational activities in Poland.

We thank the Ukrainian Red Cross for the invitation and openness to share knowledge. We believe that initiatives like these strengthen solidarity and the effectiveness of humanitarian actions in the face of contemporary threats.
