Kielczanie learned to save lives. First aid demonstrations at four points in the city on the occasion of World Red Cross Day
On May 8 in Kielce, residents had a unique opportunity to learn the basics of first aid. On the occasion of World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day, open educational booths run by volunteers and Polish Red Cross rescuers were organized at four points in the city.
– We will try to encourage passersby to come to us, see what we are doing, and how to provide first aid – said Stanisław Dzikowski, vice president of the Kielce regional branch of the Polish Red Cross, for Radio Kielce.
This initiative fits into the global celebrations taking place in 191 countries and involving over 100 million volunteers. In Kielce, one could not only learn the principles of cardiopulmonary resuscitation but also find out how to react in life-threatening situations and how to use a first aid kit correctly.
Organizers emphasize that awareness and the courage to act can save another person's life. The demonstrations and instructions aimed not only at education but also at breaking the barrier of fear of providing help.
The initiative met with great interest from the people of Kielce, confirming the need to organize similar events.
