On Friday, October 3rd, we started an intensive 100-hour course "Sister PCK" - a program preparing for work with elderly and dependent individuals, combining theoretical knowledge with practical preparation for the role of a caregiver.
We have already completed the first aid course - 16 hours of intensive classes that equipped participants with the skills to respond quickly and effectively in life-threatening situations. And what lies ahead?
Participants will have a rich program of classes conducted by specialists: a nurse, a doctor, a psychologist, and a social worker. They will learn how the body of a sick and elderly person changes, how to recognize its needs, and how to support it both physically and emotionally. They will learn how to safely and effectively assist a bedridden person, take care of their hygiene and comfort, as well as how to prepare appropriate meals for various conditions.

During the course, they will also learn the principles of storing and administering medications, methods of performing simple nursing procedures, and gain knowledge about the healthcare, social, and welfare systems functioning in Poland – including the roles of various institutions and professional teams supporting those in need.
The "Sister PCK" course is not only about learning – it is real preparation for the daily challenges of caring for individuals in need of support. Ahead of us is an intensive time, full of practical skills and valuable knowledge that can truly change the lives of others.
