On September 29th this year, in the atmospheric space of Divine Venice in Bydgoszcz, a unique event took place on the occasion of The National Day of Reading Aloud, organized by Ms. Lucyna Brzezińska-Eluszkiewicz and the 12 Kamienica Foundation. The meeting gathered preschoolers, students, seniors, and invited guests who together celebrated the joy of reading.

"IMPORTANT PEOPLE READ, THEY READ"

The event was also attended by the Director of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie District of the Polish Red Cross – Mr. Krzysztof Rębacz, who joined the group of readers, sharing not only literary content but also positive energy and engagement with the participants.

Among the invited guests were also representatives of government and local authorities, the world of culture, sports, and media:

  • Kujawsko-Pomorski Voivode, Mr. Michał Sztybel,

  • Press Officer of the Provincial Command of the State Fire Service in Toruń, Brig. Małgorzata Jarocka-Krzemkowska,

  • Representative of the Mayor of Bydgoszcz for housing estate councils, Ms. Bernadeta Różańska – Majchrzak,

  • Director of the Department of Education and Sports of the City Hall of Bydgoszcz bydgoszcz.pl, Ms. Magdalena Buschmann,

  • Director of the Science and Culture Center Młyny Rothera, Mr. Sławomir Czarnecki,

  • musical and jazz vocalist as well as an actress of the Chamber Theatre named after Wanda Rucińska in Bydgoszcz, Ms. Judyta Wenda,

  • and journalist of Polish Radio PiK, editor Bogumiła Wresiło.

Everyone read with great expression, showing how important role literature plays in building intergenerational bonds.

We are glad that the Polish Red Cross could be part of this valuable event. We thank the organizers for the invitation and all participants for celebrating together.
