Due to heavy rainfall, the risk of local flooding and floods, weather alerts were in effect in large parts of the country. Rescue Groups and PCK Humanitarian Aid Groups were put on high alert. Thanks to excellent organization, training, and equipment, we are able to act swiftly. This would not be possible without the #naRatunek Fund.
The Rescue Groups and Humanitarian Aid Groups were put on high alert on July 8.
We have developed action protocols in the event of local activities that do not exceed the area of the province, as well as procedures for activating inter-provincial support - both in terms of rescue and organizing humanitarian aid. These actions include mobilizing additional resources if the scale of events exceeds the capabilities of regional units.

From a logistical standpoint, we identified available resources - field beds, blankets, sleeping bags, hygiene kits - that we are able to transport quickly to areas affected by the elements.
On July 8, our rescue units in Silesia actively supported local authorities, among other things, in building barriers to limit the inflow of water. The Bielsko Biała PCK GR was tasked with filling sandbags. Its members, along with uniformed services, were packing them until midnight to protect areas near water reservoirs from flooding. Meanwhile, the Czechowice-Dziedzice GR, together with the volunteer fire brigade, secured the dam of the retention reservoir. They also set up a tent, providing WOT soldiers shelter from the rain while filling the bags.

At the central level, ongoing monitoring of needs and the dynamically changing situation in all threatened provinces was conducted. By July 10, it appeared that the heavy rains that came to Poland with the Genoa Depression led only to local submergence.
Rescuers and PCK Humanitarian Aid are able to react swiftly as soon as they receive orders from Crisis Management Departments in their areas. This is possible thanks to excellent organization and commitment from the Rescue Groups and Humanitarian Aid Groups. Their members act voluntarily, but thanks to professional training and equipment, they work hand in hand with state services. Some actions are coordinated as a whole, such as organizing humanitarian aid in the Stronie Śląskie municipality, which was devastated during the flood in September 2024.
Equipment essential for work in crisis situations, as well as basic necessities like food, hygiene products, or necessary flood cleaning equipment and dryers, can be purchased quickly thanks to funds that we have secured in the #naRatunek Fund. This is a financial reserve for times of crisis, which may occur in a year or could happen tomorrow.
The #naRatunek Fund consists solely of donations from our donors. For rescue operations or PCK humanitarian aid, no grants are received from the state budget or public institutions.
