The house run in Ciechanów by the Polish Red Cross supports the local community every day. From care for the sick and the elderly, through support for single mothers and children, to assistance for refugees from Ukraine. Comprehensive assistance for various groups is provided here with unwavering commitment.
Thanks to the collaboration between the Polish Red Cross and Procter & Gamble, this place will gain even greater opportunities to act for all its wards. A major renovation of the key rooms of the Ciechanów House is underway, including the kitchen and bathroom. Additionally, a modern laundry will be created here, significantly improving sanitary conditions. The renovation will be funded by P&G brands Lenor, Ariel, and Fairy.
The comfort and safety of the wards is the priority of the House, whose full name is the PCK Day Care Home. For years, children have been receiving warm meals, help with learning, and participating in day camps here. In addition to material support, seniors participate in activating activities, can count on legal and psychological assistance. For refugees from Ukraine, language and vocational courses have been organized since 2022: despite being away from their homeland, they feel a semblance of home here. People with dementia will soon be given special care: with progressive memory decline, thinking ability, psychomotor coordination, and communication. These diseases are often accompanied by mood disturbances, which can lead to depression.
In Poland, there are about 600,000 people with dementia, primarily affecting the elderly. It is estimated that by 2050 the number of sick people will triple. In the PCK Day Care Home in Ciechanów, support for such wards will be provided in the form of rehabilitation and caregiver assistance in simple tasks. The PCK House will provide care and therapeutic services, occupational and movement therapy, as well as classes with a speech therapist and neurologist, which will help restore independent functioning. The building's infrastructure is to be better adapted for seniors, including those suffering from the mentioned diseases. Procter & Gamble - after the renovation - will provide products that make daily life easier for household members.
The renovation of the PCK Day Care Home in Ciechanów is just part of the long-term collaboration between P&G and the Polish Red Cross. The company has previously supported our efforts, including during the COVID-19 pandemic, providing essential disinfectants at that time. We plan to continue this successful collaboration and implement further projects for local communities across Poland. Joint initiatives are proof that the combination of business and non-profit organizations can bring real benefits to those in need. The PCK Day Care Home in Ciechanów will begin operating in its new form later this year. The acceptance of application forms will start soon. We will provide assistance to thousands of people in need of all ages.
