We received the news of the passing of our colleague, late Włodzimierz Targalski, with great sadness.

The late Włodzimierz Targalski began his activities in the Polish Red Cross on October 10, 1965, and in December 1975, he actively engaged in the Honorary Blood Donation Movement of the Polish Red Cross, among other roles, he was a member of the District Council of Honorary Blood Donation and a member of the Management Board of the HDK PCK Club named after St. Brother Albert, operating at the Regional Blood Donation and Blood Treatment Center in Łódź, and subsequently actively supported the activities of the HDK PCK Club at MPK-Łódź, serving as a Board Member for over 20 years.

From 1990 to 2004, Mr. Włodzimierz led discussions and lectures on the activities of the Polish Red Cross and HDK in Łódź schools, encouraging youth to donate blood honorarily. Thanks to his efforts, many young people started to donate blood honorarily.

The late Włodzimierz Targalski was also the initiator and organizer of many blood donation campaigns in the Parish of the Transfiguration of the Lord in Łódź. He donated 42,830 ml of blood. Besides his honorary blood donation activities, Mr. Włodzimierz actively supported the actions of the Łódź Branch of the Polish Red Cross by participating in numerous collections of food items and preparing holiday packages. Since 2015, he was actively involved in the Senior Club of the Polish Red Cross.

For his social activities and promoting the idea of honorary blood donation, he was awarded, among others, the Gold, Silver, and Bronze Cross of Merit awarded by the President of Poland, as well as the Honorary Badges of the Polish Red Cross of I, II, and III degrees. Mr. Włodzimierz was also a Knight of the Crystal Heart – the highest distinction for Honorary Blood Donors of the Polish Red Cross. In 2005, at the request of the Polish Red Cross, the late Włodzimierz Targalski was honored by the President of Poland with the Knight's Cross of the Order of Rebirth of Poland.

We inform you that the funeral ceremony will take place on January 7, 2025, at 10:30 AM at the Roman Catholic Cemetery of St. Anthony (Mania) at Solec 11 in Łódź.
