From October 24 to November 4, lectures on blood donation took place at our school. During these meetings, students had the opportunity to learn how important it is to donate blood and how to prepare for blood donation.

Preparing for blood donation is very important to ensure the safety and comfort of both the donor and the recipient. Here are some tips on how to prepare best:

  1. Get some rest and sleep: Make sure you are well-rested and have had enough sleep before donating blood.

  2. Eat a light meal: Consume a light, low-fat meal before donating blood. Avoid fatty foods.

  3. Drink plenty of fluids: Within 24 hours before donating blood, drink about 2 liters of fluids, such as mineral water or juices.

  4. Avoid alcohol and cigarettes: Do not consume alcohol for at least 24 hours before donating blood and avoid smoking cigarettes for 30 minutes prior to donation.

  5. Avoid excessive physical exertion: On the day of blood donation, avoid intense physical exertion.

  6. Bring an identity document: Remember to take your ID or another photo identification document with you.

By following these simple steps, you can ensure that blood donation will be safe and comfortable. These lectures were an introduction to the blood donation campaign, which will take place on November 5, 2024. The classes were conducted in 8 fourth-grade classes and six fifth-grade classes, and approximately 350 people listened to information about voluntary blood donation.

We warmly invite everyone interested to take part in this noble initiative. By donating blood, we can save the lives of many people.

See you!
