Registration for the Olympiad

Registration for this year's Olympiad has just started and will run until November 8. Students in grades 6-8 of primary schools and secondary school students from across Poland can register for participation through a dedicated online platform. The competition, as every year, consists of four stages: school, regional, district, and finals. Each participant in the school stage will have to complete an online test that will check their knowledge of healthy lifestyle principles, alternative nutrition rules, and physical activity.

This year's theme – alternative ways of nutrition and sports in the lives of children and youth

In today's world, the growing awareness of a healthy lifestyle means that more and more parents and young people are interested in alternative ways of nutrition. Plant-based, vegetarian, and even vegan diets are gaining popularity among children and youth. Such an approach can support the development of a young organism, provided that the diet is properly balanced and delivers all the necessary nutrients, such as proteins, vitamins, and minerals.

Sport, on the other hand, plays a key role in shaping healthy habits and proper physical development. Regular physical activity, combined with appropriate nutrition, promotes building immunity, improving concentration, and overall well-being. Children who play sports also learn discipline, teamwork, and perseverance, which positively affects their personal development. It's worth encouraging young people to seek their own path that combines a healthy diet and physical activity to build solid foundations for a healthy life.

Why is it worth participating in the Olympics?

According to available studies, in Poland approximately 10% of children aged 1 to 3 years, 30% of early school-age children, and nearly 22% of adolescents up to 15 years old struggle with overweight and obesity issues. This problem also affects nearly one in three eight-year-olds.

Additionally, a study “PE like PE” shows that, as in previous years, the level of basic motor skills among primary school students is alarmingly low. As many as 94% of students from general schools and 75% of students from sports classes exhibit insufficient levels of motor competence. The Health Olympiad PCK aims to increase awareness about healthy lifestyle practices and convince youth to engage in health-promoting activities within their communities.

Similar to last year, participants will have the opportunity not only to demonstrate theoretical knowledge but also to engage in actions promoting healthy eating and sports habits in their schools and local communities. Participants in the district stage will prepare health-promoting actions that will allow them to spread knowledge about a healthy lifestyle among their peers, parents, and teachers.

Prizes and finals

In the finals, which will take place in May 2025, the 32 best participants will qualify. The winners will receive valuable prizes, including enrollment to renowned medical universities in Poland.

We invite you to participate and promote a healthy lifestyle together! Registration lasts until November 8 – it's a great opportunity to expand your knowledge about health, sports, and alternative ways of nutrition.
