In early March, another edition of the nationwide campaign 'Gold Rush of PCK' began, where tons of gold coins help finance summer vacations, the purchase of school supplies, and educational aids for children in need.

For over two decades, thanks to 'Gold Rush of PCK' and the help of donors, PCK has raised almost 3 million zlotys, weighing over 300 tons, which we have allocated to help children from the poorest families.

We are pleased that despite the passing years, our campaign continues to attract significant interest. More schools and kindergartens are joining in collecting gold coins. In this way, we are educating new generations that learn the value of selfless helping from a young age. – says Michał Mikołajczyk, member of the Management Board of the Polish Red Cross, the pioneer of the 'Gold Rush of PCK' campaign.

'Gold Rush of PCK'
involves the collection of 'golden' coins with denominations of 1, 2, and 5 groszy. As part of the campaign, street collections are conducted, in stores, in schools, in kindergartens, and in companies. Thanks to the involvement of donors from all over Poland, small coins are transformed into 'tons of gold' that help the youngest, prevent social exclusion, and create opportunities for a better start in adulthood. The funds raised during the campaign are allocated to help children, including funding: summer vacations, hot meals in schools, school supplies, and educational aids.

The 'Gold Rush of PCK' campaign also has an educational dimension. Through the campaign, PCK promotes the idea of volunteering – selfless help to others. Most volunteers in 'Gold Rush' are students helping their peers. It is this educational aspect – showing how a small gesture of collecting a handful of 'golden coins' – has particular value. The campaign receives great interest from schools and kindergartens every year.

We encourage everyone, big and small. Join the ranks of the 'fevered'. Together, let’s change the fate of children in need. Let’s help together.– adds Michał Mikołajczyk.

The 'Gold Rush of PCK' campaign lasts from March to June 2023.
