Health Olympics PCK with Biedronka

- This is the 30th edition of the Olympiad, through which the Polish Red Cross promotes among youth the need to take care of their own health and the natural environment. Over 29 years, nearly 1,200,000 students have participated in the Olympiad. This edition will be special - we are providing schools and students with a new Olympiad website, which facilitates access to educational materials. - says Michał Mikołajczyk, member of the Board of the Polish Red Cross.

The Health Olympiad of the Polish Red Cross is a competition intended for students in grades 6-8 of primary schools and secondary school students. The competition consists of four stages - school, district (county), regional (voivodeship), and final. At each stage of the Olympiad, participants solve a knowledge test covering issues related to health promotion, a healthy lifestyle, healthy nutrition, promoting physical activity, ecology, as well as counteracting food waste and raw materials. Every year, nearly 40,000 people participate in all stages of the Olympiad.

In 2023, the anniversary 30th edition is taking place of the Health Olympiad of the Polish Red Cross. On this occasion, it gains a new dimension - recruitment, subsequent stages, and substantive materials are moved online to the https://olimpiadazdrowiapck.pl/. For the first time in the project's history, nationwide recruitment will be conducted on such a large scale. On the first of March, an invitation to participate in the project was sent to over 17 thousand schools. The first stage in schools will take place at the end of March (March 27 - 31), and in the following months, the district and regional stages will follow. Just before the end of the school year (June 16 - 18), the finalists will compete for admission to the Medical University in Łódź or the Opole University.

Nutrition for school-age children is not only important due to its direct impact on the development of a young organism but also translates into concentration, memory, and even emotional expression.
