Livelihoods

We support refugees who left Ukraine due to armed conflict and temporarily settled in Poland to increase their chances of employment and improve access to the local labor market.

About the program

As part of the "Livelihoods" program, the Polish Red Cross, in cooperation with the Spanish Red Cross, effectively supports refugees in finding work and integrating into the Polish market.

Its main goal is to increase employment opportunities and improve access to the local labor market for people who left Ukraine as a result of the conflict and temporarily settled in Poland.

Training and courses

An integral aspect of professional activation is training and courses tailored to the needs of the labor market. As part of the project, 391 Polish language courses have been organized by February 2025, in which 2,301 people participated, which was crucial for their integration and increasing their chances of finding employment.

Additionally, participants are involved in vocational courses including, among others, training in computer and office software handling, accounting and HR courses, training for caregivers of the elderly, as well as forklift operator courses and category B driving licenses.

Where do we implement the program?

The project is being implemented in the provinces of: Subcarpathian, Lesser Poland, Lower Silesia, Masovia, and Pomerania. The activity of the Polish Red Cross branches in cities such as Rzeszów, Kraków, Warsaw, Wrocław, and Gdańsk has allowed reaching a wide range of beneficiaries and adapting support to local labor market conditions.

Thanks to such a comprehensive approach, the project  "Livelihoods" not only increases the chances of refugees in the labor market but also contributes to their fuller integration into Polish society, helping them build a stable future in their new country.
