Restoring Family Ties
The National Information and Search Office of the Polish Red Cross, operating continuously since 1919, conducts searches at the request of people residing in Poland who are looking for their closest relatives, people missing as a result of warfare, armed conflicts, migrations and disasters.
In recent years, it has been conducting a particularly large number of searches for people who have lost contact with their loved ones in connection with migrations and the armed conflict in Ukraine.
The conflict in Ukraine divides families
Since February 2022, the National Bureau of Information and Search of the Polish Red Cross has received several thousand inquiries regarding the search for missing persons as a result of the international armed conflict in Ukraine.

We connect families
An elderly man lived in a tent run by the NRC (Norwegian Refugee Council) at the Eastern Railway Station in Warsaw. Workers from the Polish Red Cross found his family within 3 days.

Who can submit an application for a search?
- family members of persons missing as a result of armed conflicts, wars, including natural disasters and migration
- family members of prisoners of war wishing to obtain confirmation of the captivity of the person sought
During the implementation of KBIiP PCK tasks, it complies with the provisions of the European General Data Protection Regulation of April 27, 2016, as well as the principle of discretion regarding the fate of missing and searching persons.
The searches conducted by the National Bureau of Information and Searches of the Polish Red Cross, both domestically and abroad, are free of charge.
How to use the help of looking for relatives?
If you are currently in Poland and have lost contact with your loved one due to the war, please contact us.
Send an email to: tracing.service@pck.pl, providing the following information:
- first name
- town you are currently in
- phone number
- date of last contact with the missing person
- relation to the missing person

We will call you back, determine if we can help you, and if so, we will arrange a meeting with you to fill out the searching application.
If you are not in Poland but need assistance due to loss of contact with your loved one, please contact the Red Cross or Red Crescent in the country you are currently in.
