Frequently asked questions

01

Every call is answered by a trained employee of the Helpline. They will greet you, introducing themselves and informing you that you have reached the Red Cross Helpline.

Our Helpline employs specialists from Poland and Ukraine. The first person to answer your call will be an experienced operator who, after a brief conversation to help determine your needs, will provide you with the appropriate information or connect you with a duty psychologist.

If it happens that you do not speak the same language, you will be redirected to another employee (our specialists speak Polish, Ukrainian, Russian, and English).

During the conversation, our specialists will ask you a few questions to tailor the assistance to your needs. We will accompany you for as long as you need us. The only situation in which the Helpline employee may terminate the call earlier is if they encounter aggression that prevents conversation.

02

On our Hotline, we primarily provide informational and psychological support. Our operators give information about current activities conducted by the Red Cross and other organizations operating in Poland. Our psychologists offer help to anyone who needs support. They will talk about any issue that is important to you. Every situation, every problem, and every doubt you call us with is treated individually, and we work together to find a solution. We consider what can be done in this specific situation, what options we have, and what can realistically change your circumstances.

03

Yes, the helpline is anonymous and free of charge. Our conversations are confidential. This means that we will not tell anyone about what we discussed. In situations where we determine that your health and life are at risk, we will contact individuals who will take care of your safety.

04

Our Helpline is open from Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 17:00. Incoming calls outside of these hours will not be answered.

If you called during the given hours, but no one answered your call, there are two possibilities. The first is a situation where all operators are on calls. In this case, please try calling again shortly. The second situation is one where the Helpline is closed or there has been a failure.
