Representatives of the Polish Red Cross among experts in crisis management. In recent weeks, they participated in important events dedicated to this topic.

At the end of May, the Polish Red Cross participated in the II International Conference "Protection of the Population, Rescue and Humanitarian Aid. Vulnerability - Resilience - Education" organized by the Fire Academy and the University of Warsaw.

The program addressed topics related to new regulations in the field of population protection, the use of artificial intelligence, drones, and GIS systems in crisis management, the future of the shelter system, social resilience to disasters, cyber threats and disinformation, as well as the importance of initiatives and the role of non-governmental organizations.

Experts from scientific and research institutions, local and government administration, the National Fire Service and other rescue services, non-governmental organizations and social initiatives, and international partners from Finland and other European countries shared their expertise.

The second event was the IV International Scientific Conference "Crisis Management - Population Protection - Rescue" organized by the Military Technical Academy in Gdańsk from June 3 to 5.

During panel discussions, challenges in organizing the population protection system, resilience of crisis management systems, safety culture during contemporary threats, population protection in light of migration and refugee challenges, and taking rescue actions in the face of poly-crises were discussed. The Polish Red Cross co-created the scientific committee of this initiative, as well as bringing to participants' attention the role of humanitarian aid in the system of population protection.

The conferences created a space for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and experiences that will help the Polish Red Cross, as a population protection entity, in building social resilience.
