EUROPEAN FUNDS FOR FOOD AID 2021-2027 CO-FINANCED BY THE EUROPEAN SOCIAL FUND PLUS
SUBPROGRAM 2023

The main goal of Subprogram 2023 was
to combat material deprivation by providing food aid to those most in need and ensuring accompanying measures to support their social inclusion from June 2024 to December 2024 for the residents of the City of Kołobrzeg, the Kołobrzeg Commune, the Rymań Commune, the Gościno Commune, the Siemyśl Commune, the Dygowo Commune, and the Ustronie Morskie Commune.

Assistance under Subprogram 2023 was directed to individuals in difficult life situations, whose income does not exceed 265% of the income criterion entitling them to social assistance:

  • 2 056,40 zł. in the case of a person living alone,

  • 1 590,00 zł. in the case of a person in a family.

The task of the program was to provide those benefiting from its assistance with support for their most basic needs, which aims to lift them out of poverty and enable integration into society. The European Funds for Food Aid Program supports individuals and families subjected to material deprivation, which is characterized by the inability to meet food needs. The aim of the program implemented in 2024 was to provide food aid in the form of packages consisting of 17 types of food products to those most in need. A total of 32,7764 tons of food products were distributed to beneficiaries.

For 1091 beneficiaries, 6052 food packages were issued. The articles were distributed in close cooperation with social assistance centers, which qualified the beneficiaries and provided information about the distribution date. Food waste was prevented by conducting rational warehouse management of food products. Assistance was directed to individuals who could not provide adequate food supplies due to financial reasons. Support was directed to 4.58% of homeless individuals, 19.16% of disabled individuals. 46.47% of the assistance was used by people of working age between 30 and 64 years. Children constituted 36.57% of the individuals covered by the support.

Individuals qualified for Subprogram 2023 received food at the PCK Warehouse at Unii Lubelskiej 35 in Kołobrzeg. Assistance reached those in difficult situations. Principles of equality, solidarity, and human rights protection were observed. Food aid was provided in a manner that respected the identity of the beneficiaries and did not lead to their stigmatization. Individuals in difficult life situations received ongoing support. Clear and objective criteria for qualifying beneficiaries were established. Equal and impartial access to assistance was ensured. A distribution point was organized in a way that ensured discretion and anonymity. Information about the program was communicated through various channels.
