What does the work of rescue dogs look like and how do they support services? On April 26 in Gdańsk, this will be able to be seen live. "Four Paws, Great Mission!" is a Polish Red Cross event with demonstrations and attractions for visitors.
On the occasion of the International Rescue Dog Day, the area around the Wisłoujście Fortress will become a space for demonstrations of actions carried out daily by services and rescue teams.
During the Polish Red Cross event, it will be possible to see how dogs work in various specializations. The program includes, among others, tracking demonstrations, scent detection, water operations, and the cooperation of the dog with the handler in situations requiring quick responses.

Services and rescue teams
Representatives of many formations that use dogs in operational activities daily will participate in the event. Present will be, among others, Police officers, Border Guard officials, the National Revenue Administration, Territorial Defense Forces, Prison Service members, as well as firefighters and rescuers.
Among them will also be the rescue teams of the Polish Red Cross, including the Special Rescue Group of the PCK Tri-City.
It is a rare opportunity to see various specialized teams in one place and talk to people who work daily in situations requiring high competence and trust in their four-legged partners.
Many attractions for participants
The event has an open character and is aimed at whole families. In addition to demonstrations, the organizers have planned a space for learning and active leisure.
Participants will find waiting on site:
first aid zones for people and animals,
an outdoor game with tasks,

outdoor activities and a special zone for children.
Participants can take part in tasks and see how selected elements of rescue operations look in practice.
Safety and cooperation
The event shows what cooperation between different services and organizations looks like in situations requiring coordinated actions. It is also an opportunity to learn about the work of dog handlers and volunteers involved in rescue operations.
The event is under the patronage of the City of Gdańsk, Radio Gdańsk, and Trojmiasto.pl.
