On Saturday, March 7, 2026, a special event titled "Space for Women – Support, Equality, Integration" was held at the Bydgoszcz Center for Non-Governmental Organizations and Volunteering (BCOPW) on the occasion of International Women's Day, organized by the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Humanitarian Aid Group in cooperation with the Polish Red Cross.

The meeting had an integrative, educational, and developmental character and was aimed at both women with migration experiences and women from the host community. The goal of the event was to create a safe and open space where participants could enhance their competencies, build support networks, share experiences, and counter social exclusion and discrimination.

The event was attended by over 50 participants of various ages and from different social backgrounds. Many women arrived with children, for whom a special care corner run by volunteers was prepared, allowing the participants to fully benefit from the workshop program.

The program of the event included several thematic blocks:

Psychological and developmental workshops

During the meetings, participants worked on recognizing their own resources and strengths, building self-esteem, and developing communication skills. The workshops supported women in planning further personal and social development and strengthened their sense of agency and self-confidence.

Creative and craft workshops

In the creative area, artistic and handmade activities took place. Creative work fostered integration, building relationships, and expressing emotions in a friendly and safe atmosphere.

Humanitarian block of the Polish Red Cross

Participants could learn about the activities of the Polish Red Cross and the role of women in humanitarian and social actions. During short thematic sessions, opportunities for volunteering with the Polish Red Cross and examples of women's activities in rescue and aid actions were presented.

Medical and health block

In this part of the event, workshops on first aid, health prevention, and diseases particularly affecting women were held. Participants gained practical knowledge that may help them take care of their own health and that of their loved ones.

Joint celebration and integration

The meeting concluded with a summary of activities and time for informal conversations, networking, and integration over coffee. It was an opportunity to establish new acquaintances and strengthen relationships among participants.

The event was met with very positive feedback, and participants emphasized that it was a valuable space for development, conversation, and mutual support. The meeting showed how important initiatives that build solidarity, equality, and women's activity in the local community are.
