At the end of 2025, another edition of the project "Dignified Life" - Comprehensive Assistance for homeless individuals and those at risk of homelessness, implemented by the Kuyavian-Pomeranian District Branch in Bydgoszcz, was completed.

The project was carried out from July to December 31, 2025, and provided support to 30 homeless individuals in particularly difficult life situations. Its goal was not only to provide material assistance but also to counter social exclusion through integrative, educational, and mental health support activities.

Scope of the provided support

As part of the project, participants received:

  • regular food assistance,

  • hygiene products,

  • warm clothing and winter footwear,

  • psychotherapeutic support,

  • participation in a first aid course culminating in the receipt of named certificates,

  • the opportunity to participate in integrative and activating activities, such as joint Nordic Walking sessions,

  • participation in a common Christmas Eve dinner, which became an important element of building relationships and a sense of community.

Integration and activation as the key of the project

The "Dignified Life" project has long been based on the assumption that effective assistance is more than just ad hoc material support. Therefore, great importance was attached to integrating participants, strengthening their independence, and rebuilding their sense of agency and dignity. Joint activities fostered relationship building, improved well-being, and social activation of individuals in homelessness crisis.

Project financing

The total value of the project amounted to nearly 70,000 PLN, of which 50,000 PLN was a grant awarded by the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship Office in Bydgoszcz as part of the competition for non-governmental organizations.

Acknowledgements

We sincerely thank the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship Office in Bydgoszcz for their trust and many years of cooperation, as well as all the employees and volunteers for their commitment to the implementation of project activities. Thanks to our joint efforts, it was possible to create real support for those most in need.

The "Dignified Life" project once again demonstrated that comprehensive assistance, based on empathy, collaboration, and activation, has a real impact on improving the quality of life for individuals in homelessness crisis.
