Blood donation

The 21st edition of the program is starting “Fiery Rescuer – Hot Blood”. This is a nationwide initiative of the Polish Red Cross, implemented in cooperation with the State Fire Service and the Association of Volunteer Fire Brigades of the Republic of Poland.

For years, firefighters have shown that saving lives does not end with the completion of a rescue operation. In many localities, they organize blood drives, engage residents, and encourage others to share what is most valuable – blood that can save lives. Their commitment to voluntary blood donation is another example of serving others and real assistance to those in need.

“Fiery Rescuer – Hot Blood”. Who can participate

Units of the State Fire Service and Volunteer Fire Brigades from all over Poland can participate, as can individual professional and volunteer firefighters.

Competition is conducted in several categories, including:

  • the most active PSP unit,

  • the most active OSP unit,

  • “Fiery Rescuer” – a firefighter particularly involved in organizing blood donation campaigns.

In this year's edition, activities will be assessed carried out from January 2 to December 31, 2026.
