Joining the European Funds for Food Aid Program 2021-2027 subprogram 2024

The West Pomeranian District Branch of the Polish Red Cross in Szczecin informs that it has joined theEuropean Funds for Food Aid Program 2021 – 2027 Subprogram 2024 co-financed by the European Social Fund Plus.


The general objective of the operation under Subprogram 2024 is to counteract material deprivation by providing food assistance to the most needy people and ensuring accompanying measures to support their social inclusion during theDecember 2024 – September 2025


Groups of the most needy people to whom food assistance will be directed:

  • people with disabilities,

  • homeless persons,

  • citizens of third countries,

  • persons of foreign origin and belonging to minorities (including marginalized communities such as Roma);

  • other groups of recipients meeting the criteria specified in Article 7 of the Act of March 12, 2004 on social assistance, and whose income does not exceed 265% of the income criterion qualifying for social assistance.


From January 1, 2025,
new income criteria qualifying for food assistance under the European Funds for Food Aid Program 2021-2027 will apply.


The new criteria constitute 265% of the statutory criterion qualifying for benefits in social assistance and amount to respectively:

  • 2,676.50 PLN for a single-person household

  • 2,180.95 PLN for a person in a family.


Qualification for participation in the Program will take place in cooperation with Social Assistance Centers in municipalities. The SAP issues referrals for eligible persons to receive food assistance (Attachment 5) or sends lists of persons qualified for the Program to organizations, subject to obtaining the consent of these persons (Attachment No. 7).


During the implementation of the distribution process, activities will be conducted under accompanying measures. These activities aim to counteract social exclusion and contribute to poverty alleviation by directing people to services providing social and health services, including psychological support, or providing such services, giving appropriate information about public services, or providing advice on managing household budgets and others.
