The labor market in Poland is facing challenges: on one hand, companies cannot find employees, on the other, many people cannot find employment. The Polish Red Cross is starting a nationwide labor market survey 2026, which aims to explain the source of this discrepancy and how to reduce it.

More and more employers are talking about staff shortages. At the same time, many people cannot find employment for months. This tension between the needs of companies and the situation of candidates is one of the key challenges of the labor market in Poland today.

That is why the Polish Red Cross is conducting an independent, nationwide labor market survey. The project will last throughout 2026 and will involve both employers and job seekers.

The survey also includes individuals in difficult life situations, migrants, and the long-term unemployed. These are groups that often face real barriers to entering the labor market.

The survey focuses on three key areas:

  • what employers actually expect from candidates,

  • the barriers faced by job seekers,

  • what hinders entry or return to the labor market.

The collected data will translate into concrete actions.

Thanks to them, it will be possible to:

  • better match training to real job offers,

  • indicate the competencies that are most sought after today,

  • identify barriers blocking a return to the labor market,

  • prepare more effective forms of support for those who cannot find employment today.

The survey will also be a starting point for cooperation with employers, public institutions, and social organizations.

Methodology of the PCK survey

The survey relies on two complementary methods:

  • online questionnaires for employers and job seekers,

  • paper questionnaires filled out during focus group meetings.

This way, the PCK collects both quantitative data and in-depth opinions from participants. Participation is voluntary. The data will be used solely for research purposes. The questionnaires are available in three languages: Polish, English, and Ukrainian.

Take part in the labor market survey.
Fill out the questionnaire and help show the real picture of the labor market in Poland:

The survey will last until the end of 2026.

Cooperation for companies

We also invite institutions interested in cooperating in conducting the survey.
