Soldiers and civilian employees of the Foreign Missions Preparation Centre from Bukówka near Kielce support voluntary blood donation
Since 2015, the HDK PCK Club No. 500 has been operating at the Foreign Missions Preparation Centre in Kielce, uniting both military personnel and civilian employees. The club regularly organizes blood donation campaigns, promoting this noble initiative among soldiers and youth – the Cadets (the title of soldiers in preparatory service).
"Donating blood is our mission. Blood is an indispensable medicine that cannot be produced. Everyone may need it, for example, during surgery or in an accident. Our campaigns show that helping others has a timeless dimension," says Lt. Col. Krzysztof Orzech, deputy commander of the Centre.

Soldiers voluntarily engage in these activities. The club also organizes educational activities, introducing young people to the intricacies of blood donation and hematology. This way, participants learn, among other things, about their blood type and how to take care of their health in order to become a donor.
"Statistically, only 2% of society donates blood. Members of our club donate an average of 250 liters of blood annually. We want blood donation to become a common practice." – emphasizes Lt. Col. Orzech.

The Centre also plans open days on the occasion of Children's Day, where children will be able to tour the unit and familiarize themselves with military equipment. "It is important for us to reach out to society and fight stereotypes. We want to show that the army is open and friendly," adds Lt. Col. Orzech.
