On July 30, the Polish Red Cross launched a unique campaign titled "In Bonds of Blood," commemorating the 80th anniversary of the outbreak of the Warsaw Uprising. The initiative will last 63 days, symbolically referring to the duration of the fighting in the capital.
The Polish Red Cross – the oldest humanitarian organization in Poland – thus reminds of its immense and often underestimated role it played during the Uprising. It was the employees and volunteers of the Polish Red Cross who provided assistance to the wounded, organized field hospitals, delivered medicines and food, often risking their own lives.
– Remembering the heroes of those days is our moral obligation, and through the campaign "In Bonds of Blood," we want to emphasize how important the idea of providing assistance was and is – notes the Polish Red Cross.
The actions undertaken as part of the campaign are educational and commemorative in nature and include, among others, blood donation initiatives, historical publications, multimedia spots, and events commemorating the participation of the Polish Red Cross in the Warsaw Uprising.
📌 Let us remember – the Warsaw Uprising is not only heroism with weapons in hand, but also the quiet courage of those who saved lives and human dignity.
