The Polish Red Cross has been effectively collecting used clothing in Kielce for a decade. There are currently about 190 specially marked containers in the city where unnecessary textiles – clothes, bedding, or shoes – can be dropped off.
The collected items go to the sorting facility and are then sold. The funds obtained from the sale of clothing are allocated by the PCK to carry out numerous aid actions – among others, for children from poor and dysfunctional families, as well as to support rescue services and first aid training.
– From the sold clothing, the Polish Red Cross acquires funds, which it allocates for aid activities for children from dysfunctional and the poorest families, as well as for supporting rescue operations and first aid training – emphasizes Maria Łabuda, director of the Świętokrzyski District Branch of the PCK, in an interview with TVP3 Kielce.
Thanks to the involvement of Kielce residents, the PCK can realistically help those in greatest need. The organization encourages active participation in the collection and reminds – when you help, you give a second life to clothing and hope to others!
We also encourage you to watch the report prepared by TVP3 Kielce.
