Blood donation

The Senate adopted a resolution by acclamation on the 90th anniversary of blood donation in Poland.

In 1935, in Warsaw at 6 Smolna Street, initiated by the Polish Red Cross, the Institute of Blood Collection and Conservation was established, the first medical facility in Poland dealing with transfusion issues. This event significantly contributed to the later fruitful development of blood donation and transfusion medicine in our country – we read in the resolution.

On the 90th anniversary of the establishment of the first Polish transfusion center, the Senate of the Republic of Poland expresses the highest recognition to the Polish Red Cross, honorary blood donors, and other institutions and organizations that care for the health and life of their fellow citizens, ensuring that our country never lacks the most precious medicine – blood – the senators wrote.
