The actions planned for the coming days focus on accurately identifying the needs of residents and coordinating humanitarian assistance. The town, which has been seriously affected by the flood, will be divided into sectors to precisely assess the needs of each affected family. This covers an area of 1000 houses and 2500 people. In the coming hours, specialists from the Polish Red Cross Humanitarian Aid Groups will conduct a thorough analysis of the situation, which will allow for precise delivery of assistance tailored to the needs of specific households and farms.
In response to the dynamically changing needs, representatives of the Humanitarian Support Groups present on site are also planning to establish a fuel and equipment depot in the municipality, enabling proportional distribution of these scarce resources. Stock levels are also being analyzed to smoothly transfer products that are lacking in other towns, such as Lądek-Zdrój. The priority for today is to begin a detailed terrain assessment, streamline the logistics chain, and execute the nearest deliveries from the regional branch of the Polish Red Cross in Wrocław, including 15 professional construction dehumidifiers.
Additionally, PCK specialists are heading to the Kłodzko aid hub to provide organizational support, optimize the supply chain, and determine a priority list of goods needed by those affected by the flood.
Rescuers from the Polish Red Cross Rescue Group are closely cooperating with the field hospital of the State Fire Service, which has been operating in Stronie Śląskie since today.
In light of this situation, PCK is limiting material donations, organized over the past few days across the country.
– At the moment, we have secured the appropriate supplies of food and bottled water, but there is still an urgent need for hygiene products and disinfectants, cleaning equipment, and heavy construction machinery. Currently, the most needed items are portable gas stoves with cartridges, brooms, shovels, thick gloves, wheelbarrows, and other tools necessary for cleaning the flooded areas.
– We are entering the next phase of our activities, where the key becomes supporting residents in rebuilding their homes and restoring normalcy after the flood. Now the most needed items are dehumidifiers, chemical agents, and construction equipment that will help tidy up the damage and restore decent living conditions for the residents of Stronie Śląskie. We thank you for your support so far and appeal for further engagement – every help is of great significance. At the same time, we encourage our donors to help thoughtfully, even by making contributions to our fundraiser on the zrzutka.pl portal. This way, we can quickly buy what is currently most needed, such as the mentioned professional construction dehumidifiers, which will depart for Stronie from our warehouse in Wrocław today.
The Polish Red Cross also draws attention to attempts to mislead the local community by dishonest individuals who offer fictitious rentals of dehumidifiers and heaters at inflated prices. To counteract such practices, PCK is cooperating with the local police and will soon publish detailed announcements about planned actions and distribution points for assistance.
