Polish Red Cross is a social partner of the Coca-Cola campaign "The world needs more Santa Clauses"

In this year's Coca-Cola holiday campaign, the Polish Red Cross, as a social partner, organizes holiday meetings for those in greatest need from Poland and Ukraine, as well as a food package collection among consumers and company employees. Partners encourage everyone to discover their inner Santa Claus and visit a place where the magic of Christmas begins.

According to the report of the Central Statistical Office (2023) "The extent of economic poverty in Poland in 2022", the average material situation of households has genuinely worsened, among other things due to high inflation. Nearly 1.8 million people live in extreme poverty – they are the ones who need support the most, especially during the holiday season.

For over 104 years, the Polish Red Cross has been helping people in difficult situations. The organization’s mission is to prevent human suffering and alleviate its effects and to protect dignity, without any discrimination based on nationality, race, gender, religious or political beliefs.

The Polish Red Cross recognizes the problem of extreme poverty and social exclusion. We do not accept that in Poland – especially during the holidays – anyone remains hungry. We wish for everyone to have dignified, warm, and joyful holiday gatherings. Therefore, in this year's campaign organized with our trusted partner, which has been Coca-Cola for years, we want to help all those in need. Sharing multiplies goodness –
says Michał Mikołajczyk, Member of the Management Board of the Polish Red Cross.

Coca-Cola has been actively involved in charitable activities for many years, specifically in support of the International Red Cross Movement. In 2022, companies from the Coca-Cola Group, including Coca-Cola HBC, supported the Ukrainian Red Cross and Red Cross associations in neighboring countries (including the Polish Red Cross) with the amount of 1 million euros. Additionally, in the first days after the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, the company delivered over 250,000 liters of beverages, and thanks to the aforementioned funds, four reception points for refugees crossing the border were established in Poland.

What does the magic of Christmas mean to you? - win a trip to Santa Claus Village

This year, Coca-Cola engages both consumers and company employees in activities carried out as part of the latest holiday campaign "The World Needs More Santa Clauses." To participate in this year’s action, you simply need to assemble a package from specified food products (pasta, rice, oil, groats, tea, fish can, meat can, cocoa), keep the receipt, and then deliver it to the local branch of the Polish Red Cross. A list of points is available in the Coca-Cola app. As a result, the donor receives a confirmation in the form of a certificate from Santa Claus. The document contains a QR code that, when scanned, takes the user to the contest in the Coca-Cola app. The main prize in the contest is a trip to Santa Claus Village in Rovaniemi. All you need to do is answer one question: "What does the magic of Christmas mean to you?" The action will last until December 21.

Christmas is a magical time – a time of joy, kindness, and sharing goodness. Coca-Cola has been accompanying Poles in celebrating important moments for years, and we wish that this upcoming time is also special for everyone. Through this year's campaign, we want to remind that each of us can discover their inner Santa Claus – the embodiment of empathy, generosity, and goodwill. Therefore, together with our social partners, including the Polish Red Cross, we invite you to share what is best in us – through small everyday gestures that can brighten someone's day, and those that are a little larger, which can help make this year's holidays magical for those who need it the most. Because the world needs more Santa Clauses – emphasizes Paulina Trzaskowska, Communications Manager at Coca-Cola Poland.

Coca-Cola truck and holiday meetings for the beneficiaries and friends of the Polish Red Cross

But that's not the end. In five cities that the Coca-Cola holiday truck will visit this year (Słupsk 2.12, Gniezno 9.12, Lublin 16.12, Warsaw 22.12, and a city chosen in voting 20.12), in collaboration with Coca-Cola HBC and local branches of the Polish Red Cross, holiday meetings for local communities will be organized.
