Great emotions, a large dose of substantive knowledge, a moment of uncertainty waiting for the final result, and everything became clear. We already know the winners of the jubilee 30th Health Olympiad PCK with Biedronka. Participants from primary and secondary schools had to go through 3 demanding stages to reach the grand finale. The winner in the category for secondary schools received an index of her dream university, and Biedronka awarded special prizes in both age categories – “Biedronka's Hope” for the most interesting health-promoting activities in local communities.
The grand finale of the Olympiad took place on the weekend of June 16-18 in Łódź. The organizer was the Polish Red Cross, and the main partner was the Biedronka chain. All participants faced a very demanding knowledge test, where they had to answer questions, among others, on nutrition, health prevention, and care for the natural environment. However, that was not all; the 32 finalists also had to present health-promoting actions they had carried out among their local communities earlier in the competition. In both committees evaluating a given age category, besides the experts invited by the PCK, representatives of the Biedronka chain also sat.
We are impressed by the knowledge presented by the young participants of the final stage of the 30th Health Olympiad PCK with Biedronka. Even more is said about the young generation by the projects presented by the finalists. Actions in the field of nutritional education and healthy lifestyle undertaken by Biedronka are a key pillar of our sustainable development strategy. We implement them by supporting important initiatives like the Health Olympiad PCK with Biedronka. Appreciating the students' commitment, we established a special award “Biedronka's Hope” for the best presentations from both age categories. – Karolina Błońska, senior manager for sustainable development at Biedronka chain
This year's winners of the Health Olympiad PCK with Biedronka turned out to be: Blanka Bogucka from Primary School No. 6 named after Maria Skłodowska-Curie in Kędzierzyn-Koźle and Alicja Czerw from the General Secondary School named after Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński in Staszów. Along the way, in healthy, sporting academic rivalry, they defeated several thousand peers. Biedronka's Hopes were in turn Weronika Rybaczek and Natalia Domownik.

This edition of the Olympiad was exceptional. We organized the finale for the thirtieth time. On the occasion of the anniversary, we launched a new website (www.olimpiadazdrowiapck.pl). We conducted recruitment on an unprecedented scale – invitations reached 17,000 schools across Poland. So far, over 1.2 million students have participated in all editions. The Health Olympiad PCK with Biedronka aligns with the “2030 Strategy” of the Polish Red Cross – one of our key goals is to promote knowledge about health and the natural environment among young people. We thank Biedronka, our Partner, for fruitful cooperation. Congratulations to all finalists, especially the winners! – Michał Mikołajczyk, member of the Board of the Polish Red Cross
