International Campaign "16 Days Against Gender-Based Violence" – Let's Unite Against Violence!

From November 25 to December 10, the international campaign "16 Days Against Gender-Based Violence" takes place, aimed at drawing attention to the violence primarily experienced by women and girls around the world. It is a time for reflection, education, and collective action towards creating a safe and just environment for all.

Why is it so important?

Statistics are alarming – in Europe alone, 1 in 10 women experiences gender-based violence, both from partners and colleagues at work. Such experiences have a dramatic impact not only on the mental and physical health of women, but also on their professional lives, economic situations, social relationships, and the functioning of entire families and communities.

Violence against women and girls is an issue that affects us all. It influences the shaping of future generations and the stability of societies. We cannot remain indifferent.

The rights of women and girls

Every woman and girl who has experienced violence has the right to safety, dignity, and to decide about her own fate. These are fundamental rights that must be respected at every level – in the family, in the workplace, and in public spaces.

How can we prevent violence?

Each of us can contribute to preventing violence by:

  • No tolerance for violence – let us not tolerate behaviors that violate the dignity and safety of others.

  • Responding – supporting individuals experiencing violence and reporting cases to the appropriate institutions are key steps in combating this issue.

  • Creating safe spaces – both at work and in public spaces, we can ensure that everyone feels respected and safe.

Why is it worth getting involved?

By acting together, we can change reality and build a world where gender-based violence has no place. The Polish Red Cross encourages active participation in the campaign, supporting actions for victims of violence, and promoting equality and respect in everyday life.

Join the campaign and show that you care!
