Zajęcia poprowadzą doświadczeni eksperci i praktycy międzynarodowego prawa humanitarnego, a także wykładowcy renomowanych uczelni. Oprócz wykładów teoretycznych program obejmie również dyskusje, umożliwiające uczestnikom aktywne zaangażowanie.
Tematyka zajęć będzie obejmować m.in. wprowadzenie do edukacji humanitarnej, podstawowe zasady międzynarodowego prawa humanitarnego konfliktów zbrojnych oraz kwestie związane ze ściganiem i karaniem sprawców zbrodni międzynarodowych.
XXVI Edition of the MPHKZ School
The Polish Red Cross is starting the recruitment for participation in the 26th edition of the School of International Humanitarian Law of Armed Conflicts. The course will take place from April 11 to May 19, 2024, in a hybrid format. The first four sessions will be held online from 3:00 PM to 6:15 PM on the following dates: April 11, April 18, April 25,
and May 9. The fifth session will be held in person in Warsaw from May 17 to May 19 (the exact location will be provided soon).
We invite the following to participate in the course:
- law, political science, international relations, journalism students, and related fields who are interested in the issue of armed conflicts;
- instructors and students from uniformed services schools and officers;
- employees of non-governmental organizations working in the field of international humanitarian law or interested in this topic.
The classes will be conducted by experts and practitioners of international humanitarian law, as well as lecturers from renowned universities and military academies, including the Jagiellonian University, the University of Warsaw, the Naval Academy, and the Silesian University. The theoretical lectures will be accompanied by discussions. The program will cover, among other things, an introduction to humanitarian education, the basic principles of international humanitarian law of armed conflicts, as well as the prosecution and punishment of individuals guilty of committing international crimes, etc. We will publish the detailed program of the School soon.
Participation in the course will be a great opportunity to discuss humanitarian education
in Poland, and individuals particularly interested in this topic will be invited to co-create a team of volunteers at the BZG PCK, which will focus more on this issue.
The language of instruction will be Polish.
The condition for completing the 26th School of International Humanitarian Law of Armed Conflicts and receiving a diploma is perfect attendance at the online sessions as well as the in-person session, as well as active participation in classes. The total cost of participation in the course is: 650 PLN gross (the price includes meals and accommodation during the off-site session, etc.).
The course is organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
and the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
