
Center for the Promotion of International Humanitarian Law
General information
The Centre for the Dissemination of International Humanitarian Law was established on 2 September 1977 in the Office of the Main Board of the Polish Red Cross. Its main task is to support the Commission for the Dissemination of International Humanitarian Law, operating at the Main Board of the Polish Red Cross, and to independently implement initiatives related to the promotion of humanitarian law. As part of its mission, the Centre also deals with the popularization of the ideas and principles of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and the protection of the red cross symbol.
Main tasks
leads a specialized MPH library
Coordinates the work of the Commission for the Promotion of International Humanitarian Law at the HQ of the Polish Red Cross
coordinates the work of the Commission for the Protection of the Red Cross Emblem
conducts activities related to the protection of the red cross symbol and intervenes in cases of abuse
organizes scientific conferences, lectures, workshops, and training, develops and implements educational programs
participates in international campaigns and programs,
