The Great Power of Helping has begun! Join the action

The Great Power of Helping is a campaign through which the Polish Red Cross supports the poorest and the lonely, striving to ensure that the Easter season is a time of carefreeness and relaxation for everyone. Under this motto, the Polish Red Cross is conducting hundreds of different activities across Poland.

On two weekends before Easter April 4-5 and April 11-13 food product collections have been planned in dozens of stores throughout Poland (hypermarkets and discounters of various chains). To get involved, one should look for baskets marked with the Polish Red Cross sign and volunteers who will encourage the donation of long-shelf-life food items: canned goods, pasta, cereals, oils, sugar, coffee, tea, and sweets. These products can also be delivered to most local branches of the Polish Red Cross. Collections are also conducted by schools.

Bags will be prepared from the collected donations, which will go to families and individuals in need.

Just before Easter, on the streets of cities we will also meet Polish Red Cross volunteers fundraising with characteristic red cans.

Additionally, there is an online collection. This is the most convenient form of support for donors, while also directly addressing needs. The funds raised in this way will be used to purchase products that people in difficult situations currently need most.

The Great Power of Helping is, in addition to material support, also social support. Across the country, the Polish Red Cross plans several dozen holiday meetings and workshops.

The largest of the meetings will take place in the Opole market square. On April 16, starting at 11:00 AM, everyone will be able to taste traditional żurek prepared by the Opole Polish Red Cross, as well as vegetable salad, scrambled eggs, pastries, or Ukrainian Easter dishes. In addition to delicacies, educational and handicraft stalls will be waiting for participants.

Easter meetings are also planned in, among others, Bydgoszcz, Chełm, Biała Podlaska, Biłgoraj, Warsaw, Szczecin, Stargard Szczeciński, Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski, Bartoszyce, and Sokółka. Meanwhile, integrative workshops, both for children and adults, dedicated to making decorations and preparing Easter baked goods will take place in, among others, Białystok, Suwałki, Biłgoraj, Warsaw, Bydgoszcz, and Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski.

As part of the Great Power of Helping campaign in 2024, the Polish Red Cross collected 35 tons of food, provided 5,000 holiday packages to those in need, and invited 4,400 people to Easter meetings.
