The Polish Red Cross is a social partner of the Economic Forum in Karpacz. During the event, we will want to draw public attention to how important psychological assistance is during crises.
The changing geopolitical situation, natural disasters, technological threats, and social crises make the resilience of organizations one of the most important challenges of the modern world. This year's Economic Forum in Karpacz will be held under the slogan “Architecture of the New Order – Stability in Times of Change,” emphasizing the need to build solutions that will allow effective functioning in an increasingly unpredictable environment.
Psychological assistance in times of crisis
As a social partner of the event, the Polish Red Cross will lead a panel “Resilient People, Resilient Company: Psychological First Aid in Times of Crisis,” dedicated to the significance of mental well-being for the safety and resilience of organizations.
Although crisis management is most often discussed in the context of procedures, technologies, or infrastructure security, the experiences of recent years show that the effectiveness of actions is largely determined by people. They make decisions, support others, and maintain the continuity of the organization's actions. Therefore, building resilience should encompass not only organizational solutions but also preparing employees to cope with intense stress and crisis situations.
The panel will showcase how psychological first aid can strengthen employees' mental resilience, reduce chaos, and support teams' proactive actions. We will discuss why caring for well-being is not an add-on but an element of safety, operational continuity, and the resilience of the entire organization.
The discussion with experts will be led by Agata Gajos, a member of the PCK Management Board, responsible for humanitarian assistance. A psychologist, specialist in crisis intervention, crowd management, and crisis management. For many years, she has managed PCK humanitarian assistance units during local and nationwide actions. She coordinated, among other things, PCK humanitarian actions during the flood in 2024. A sports shooter and shooting coach.
The largest meeting platform in Central and Eastern Europe
The Economic Forum in Karpacz is the largest meeting platform in Central and Eastern Europe, where not only security, economic development prospects, contemporary challenges, and overcoming crises are discussed, but also specific solutions and innovative ideas are presented.
The motto of this year's Forum - “Architecture of the New Order – Stability in Times of Change” - draws attention to the need to build resilience to increasingly complex challenges. The humanitarian perspective cannot be missing from this discussion. The Polish Red Cross has been supporting people affected by crises for over a century, and the experiences gained during disaster responses, pandemics, and the refugee crisis show that the security of organizations and states begins with human resilience. Therefore, the conversation about stability cannot be limited to the economy, technology, or infrastructure – it must also encompass mental well-being, societal preparedness to respond, and cooperation between business, administration, and social organizations.
