School in Żelaźno after the 2024 flood – scale of destruction
The September 2024 flood caused destruction in many towns in southwestern Poland. In Żelaźno, water infiltrated, among others, the building of the Private Primary School, causing serious damage to the infrastructure, flooding classrooms and corridors. The following were degraded: electrical installation, elements of sanitary infrastructure, floors, and plaster.
The scale of the losses was so significant that without external support, a quick return to teaching activities was not possible.
#odNOWAzPCK: Comprehensive renovation thanks to PCK support
Thanks to the funds provided by the Polish Red Cross, the building underwent a thorough reconstruction. The electrical installation was replaced, the sanitary infrastructure was renovated, classrooms and corridors were refurbished, and full safety of the facility's use was restored.

Today, the school meets all required standards and is fully prepared to conduct educational activities.
Children can learn here again in safe and comfortable conditions – and for many families, this is a symbol of returning to normality.
