The tradition of blood donation in Poland has lasted for precisely 90 years. Therefore, we celebrate the Days of Honorary Blood Donors of the Polish Red Cross that are just beginning. We extend our warmest wishes to all donors, volunteers, and supporters of sharing goodness.

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
Dear Honorary Blood Donors,
On the occasion of the Days of Honorary Blood Donation of the Polish Red Cross, we express our highest esteem and gratitude to you. Your willingness to share your own blood is a remarkable testament to humanity and courage, as well as the foundation of the blood donation system in Poland.
Each of you makes an invaluable contribution to saving lives—not only by donating blood but also by promoting the idea of honorary blood donation in local communities. Thanks to this responsible and noble attitude, we manage to save the health and lives of many people every day.
The year 2025 is of particular importance to the entire blood donor movement. We celebrate the 90th anniversary of blood donation in Poland, a jubilee that serves as proof of an unbroken tradition of solidarity and cooperation for the common good. Nine decades of commitment from Blood Donors, PCK activists, partners, and institutions create a history that we proudly cultivate and pass on to future generations.
In this exceptional time, we wish to emphasize that it is your commitment that is the heart of this history. Regardless of the number of liters of blood donated, every gesture of help has immense significance. Every Blood Donor becomes part of a great community of goodwill, who, in accordance with humanitarian principles, positively impacts the lives of others in a real and priceless way.
We sincerely thank you for your dedication, determination, long-term cooperation, and willingness to help in moments when it is most needed.
We wish you health, prosperity, and satisfaction from fulfilling this extraordinary mission. May the gratitude of those you have helped be a source of strength and inspiration for you in the coming years of activity in the movement of Honorary Blood Donors.
With respect and appreciation,
Zbigniew Klawczyński – President of PCK
Mariusz Malewicz – Chairman of the National Council of Honorary Blood Donors PCK
Katarzyna Mikołajczyk – General Director of PCK

The Days of Honorary Blood Donation of PCK take place from November 22 to 26. This year, their celebrations coincide with another important holiday: the 90th anniversary of blood donation in Poland. The Polish Red Cross is inextricably linked to its beginnings.
It was at the Main PCK Hospital in Warsaw, in 1935, that the first Institute of Blood Transfusion and Conservation was established in Poland. It was the Polish Red Cross that was responsible for opening the first Professional Blood Donor Center, launching the Honorary Blood Donor Center, organizing courses for doctors, and promoting blood donation.
Today, blood collection and training of staff remain within the exclusive jurisdiction of the state health service. The Polish Red Cross, however, continues to engage in activities to promote blood donation and involve new donors. Only last year, thanks to PCK's efforts, over 78 thousand liters of blood were collected. In total, we organized as many as 2341 initiatives across the country promoting blood sharing—an average of over 6 events daily!
Blood is the greatest gift one can give to another person. It is a medicine that cannot be replaced.
For us, it takes a few minutes, but for those in need, it's a chance for health and life
We sincerely thank everyone who selflessly shares a part of themselves with others. On behalf of the Main Board of the Polish Red Cross, we wish donors much health, great satisfaction from the help provided, and joy from each day.
