The Polish Red Cross has begun the implementation of the public task titled: Provision and organization of care services for Veterans, including soldiers of the Warsaw Uprising and opposition activists through the Volunteer Care Corps OKO PCK.
Funding from resources obtained from the Office for Veterans and Persons Repressed.
Type of public task: Provision and organization of care services for Veterans, including soldiers of the Warsaw Uprising, anti-communist opposition activists, and other entitled individuals through the Volunteer Care Corps OKO PCK.
Implementation period: from May 1 to November 30, 2024
The project assumes assistance that will be provided in the city of Warsaw and in the surrounding towns through the provision of home care services – for 17 veterans, soldiers of the Warsaw Uprising, opposition activists: sick, lonely, and those in need of daily care and during illness.
The assistance covers meeting the daily, essential needs enabling our beneficiaries to live in conditions that respect human dignity. It will also provide hygienic care for the beneficiaries, as well as the environment in which they stay.
Providing assistance through PCK Sisters will allow veterans to function properly in society. Contacts with the environment, joint walks, physical exercises, and reading will contribute to this. PCK Sisters will also be ready to arrange and summon medical visits, handle official matters, assist in contacts with public utility institutions, support in utilizing health services, and in purchasing necessary medications prescribed by a doctor, as well as help in reaching entities conducting medical and rehabilitation activities. Thanks to financing, 1705 hours of home care will be provided by PCK Sisters.
Value of the project: Total cost of the public task – 75,000 PLN.
